The Story
A young veteran of Indonesia's revolution finds that peace has no place for him.
Discharged into curfew-bound Bandung after independence, Iskandar struggles to settle back into civilian life with his fiancee Norma while old comrades prosper around him. When he learns that the now-wealthy Gunawan once ordered him to massacre an innocent family for the jewels that built his fortune, idealism curdles into rage. Iskandar confronts and kills the man, then runs for Norma's house, only to be cut down by military police on her doorstep, a casualty of the revolution he survived.
