The Story

Living hand to mouth in Calcutta and nursing an unfinished novel, Apu is swept into wedding a stranger, Aparna, when her arranged match collapses. To his surprise the union blossoms into tender, genuine love, until fate tests him in ways he could never have foreseen. Ray brings his beloved trilogy to a close with one of cinema's most profound studies of love, loss, and the long road back to feeling.
