The Story
A newspaper editor will do anything to keep his ace reporter, who happens to be his ex-wife, from quitting and remarrying.
When Hildy Johnson arrives to announce her engagement to a dull insurance man, Walter Burns dangles one last story: the looming execution of a condemned man he believes is being railroaded. As the scoop explodes around them and the fugitive lands in Hildy's lap, Walter sabotages her fiance at every turn. Trading fire at the speed of thought, the two rediscover that the chase, and each other, is the only life either of them really wants.
