The Story
A cavalry colonel guarding the Texas frontier finds his estranged son riding in his ranks.
In 1879, Kirby Yorke commands an undermanned post besieged by Apache raids when his boy Jeff, fresh from failing out of West Point, enlists as a common trooper. The arrival of Yorke's long-estranged wife to buy the boy out reopens old wounds and rekindles old love. When raiders seize a wagon of children and carry them across the border, Yorke leads an unsanctioned raid into Mexico, where father, son, and wife are bound together by danger and duty.
