The Story
A wounded gunfighter is taken in by a Quaker family whose faith slowly disarms him.
Quirt Evans collapses near the Worth homestead and is nursed back to health by gentle Penelope, whose pacifism and growing love begin to pull him away from the gun. As his old partner tempts him back toward rustling and the outlaw Laredo Stevens comes hunting, Quirt is torn between two lives. When an ambush leaves Penelope gravely ill, he straps on his guns for one last showdown, only for the marshal to settle it first, freeing him to lay them down for good.
