The Story
A scheming widow hides her husband's sudden death and walks straight into a castle stalked by an axe murderer.
When John Haloran dies, his wife Louise sinks the body to protect her claim on the family fortune and travels to the Halorans' brooding Irish estate, where the clan still mourns a daughter drowned years before. As Louise plots her way toward the inheritance, a killer begins cutting down the household one by one. Francis Ford Coppola's first feature is a gothic chiller thick with family secrets and dread.
